You’ve got a Realtor, you’ve got new homes coming straight to you every day – and if you don’t have either of those, check them out here: Part 1: The Most Important Step & Part 2: Finding Homes FIRST – what IS the third and final step to getting your dream home?

Yes, you’ll need to make this step to be taken seriously by sellers. Yes, they will run your credit – it’s not all that bad. And yes, lenders can be boring – kidding I have several lender friends BUT they do say a lot of things in their lingo that’s hard to understand.

Fear not. A great lender will guide you through the process just like a great Realtor will. Here at SRG we have a closely vetted group of lenders we recommend. The cream of the crop.

There are so many lenders and loan options available – and it’s often very personalized for your specific situation. Here’s why it matters: 99% of sellers do not want unqualified buyers looking at their home. So, you need that lender’s approval to get your foot in the door of your dream home.

Loans can vary from 20% down to 0% down, some cash out of pocket to none! Credit score and income history are huge factors, too.

If you’ve got a realtor on your team, talk with him or her about their recommended lenders and what’s possible. If you have a lender in mind, again talk to your Realtor – use them as your sounding board. A good Realtor will guide you toward achieving your goals based on your individual circumstances.

Here are a few quick reasons getting pre-approved is the right thing to do:

1) sellers will take you seriously.
2) you can be more confident in your purchasing power.
3) and you can know EXACTLY how much it’s going to cost to buy your home.

Here in Grays Harbor we have what’s called a seller’s market. That means there are more buyers than there are houses for sale. So as a buyer, we’ve often got to compete against several other buyers for your dream home. That’s OK – but it’s only OK if we come prepared to win. That’s our goal here at SRG. We want you to be 110% prepared for the home buying process.

If you’re in the earlier stages of buying a home, do two things:

1) CONTACT YOUR REALTOR – IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE, CONSIDER US AT SRG. WE’RE HAPPY TO HELP.

2) GET GOING ON PRE-APPROVAL. THEY’RE GOOD FOR AROUND 90 DAYS.

We have our vetted list of recommended lenders. These folks work tirelessly for you and make the home buying process as stress-free as possible: https://graysharborrealestate.com/buying/recommended-lenders/
